7 months agoThe place was so adorable but I will say this is my first time ever having a bad experience in a restaurant I ordered a green pozole and to me it just wasn’t pozole the soup was thick and I wouldn’t say it was cold but it was barely warm . Overall the plate just wasn’t appealing to eat , I’m not the type of person to return my food or complain but It took me one tablespoon to taste the pozole for me to know something was off even asked for lemons to try and fix it and it did not help so I thought it was fair enough to return it back but they still made us pay for it witch I honestly don’t think it was fair for us at all. The waiter seemed so bothered and didn’t really try to understand or care about our opinion but I had to leave a review because that did not seem fair to me at all .

7 months agowas really looking forward to eating here, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The vegetables in my meal had visible mold, and my burrito had to be reordered due to poor quality. While the staff did remake it, this should never have happened in the first place. Food safety and freshness are very important, and this visit left me with serious doubts about the kitchen standards. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their quality control.

7 months agoNice place for some downhome cooking. Saw it featured on Antojos Houston for Día de los Muertos, so had to try it. They had free pan de Muertos which were tasty and no too sweet. The free Chips and Salsa were nice. The green was the spicier one. Everything was good. The puerco adobado could've used a few more chunks. The Mrs. liked the enchiladas mole and our friend was happy with the tamales. Homemade corn tortillas were delicious. Mrs loved her tamarindo and the horchata was decent. Staff was awesome and attentive. It would be nice if they had other bean options. I recommend trying them out.

8 months agoVioleta’s Mexico Kitchen is a true hidden gem. It’s a small, family-run spot that puts real love and effort into the quality of their food. Every dish tastes fresh and homemade, with authentic flavors that stand out. You can tell they take pride in what they serve, and it makes the whole experience feel warm and genuine. A perfect hole-in-the-wall worth going out of your way for!

Edited 10 months agoEDIT - This is no longer Violeta's as they were previously. They closed down two months ago and I was starting to think they had shut down for good until I saw the place lit up with open signs once again. I stopped by yesterday excited to see them open, but nothing was the same except the signage and the building itself. There is no smoked chicken on the menu as there is no Roberto to make it. The menu is much smaller and wildly different. The food was fine and the staff was nice. I'll go back again once they have things figured out better and I'll adjust my score then. I'm leaving my old review below. ------- Their smoked chicken quesobirria is insane. Their food is a labor of love. I noticed the pickeled jalapeños were oddly shaped as if done by hand, and that's because they were. They are made by Roberto himself, the man does not cut any corners. Nothing comes out of a can or jar, it is made by hand fresh. I could hear the salsa being made right before it was brought out. The food here is just outstanding, pure quality. It's a small location without much seating inside, but it's amazing. Give it a shot, it's a Pearland gem. Oh, and the music playlist slapped mega hard. Someone has great taste.

a year agoI get breakfast tacos here multiple times a week and they are phenomenal. I don’t go anywhere else. The green salsa is the bomb
